Cookie Policy

Daily Rounds 360 uses two cookies, both to do with being signed in, and a handful of settings saved in your own browser. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no tracking pixels. This page lists every one of them.

1. Cookies we set

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. We set these, and only these:

  • dr_sessionFirst-party cookie, HTTP-only · 30 days, or until you sign out

Keeps you signed in. It holds a random token and nothing about you; the server looks the token up to know which account is making the request.

  • dr_view_asFirst-party cookie, HTTP-only · 12 hours, or until they stop

Set only for a cohort administrator who chooses to view the app as a particular student, so they can see what that student sees. Never set for students.

Both are strictly necessary: without the first you cannot stay signed in, and the second exists only while an administrator is using a feature they switched on. Neither is used to follow you around the web, and neither is readable by scripts on the page.

2. Settings saved in your browser

Some preferences are kept in your browser’s own storage rather than in a cookie. They are never sent to us or to anyone else: they stay on the device where you chose them.

  • dr-themelocalStorage · Until you clear it

Your light or dark theme choice.

  • dr:notebook-zoom, dr:notebook-themelocalStorage · Until you clear it

Your zoom level and paper colour in the notebook reader.

  • atlas-themelocalStorage · Until you clear it

The background you chose for the 3D anatomy atlas.

  • dr.grove.dock, dr.grove.live, dr.grove.sound, dr.soundscapelocalStorage · Until you clear it; the live-round flag clears itself when the round ends

Where you parked the focus-round timer, whether a round is running in another tab, and your sound settings.

  • dr:link-device:dismissed, dr.grove.v2sessionStorage · Until you close the tab

Remembers that you dismissed the “sign in on your phone” prompt, and which version of the grove this tab is showing.

3. Other companies’ cookies

A few features load something from another company. Their cookies are theirs:

  • Razorpay — when you open the payment window, Razorpay’s checkout runs on its own domain and may set cookies for fraud prevention and to complete the payment. Nothing from Razorpay loads on any other page.
  • YouTube and Vimeo — a question or material may contain a video. YouTube videos are embedded through youtube-nocookie.com, which sets no cookies until you press play; Vimeo videos are embedded with Vimeo’s “do not track” setting on. Once you play a video, that provider’s own cookie policy applies.
  • Google Meet — the study room link opens Google Meet in a new tab, under Google’s terms. Nothing from Google is embedded in our pages.

Our fonts are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not contact Google Fonts.

5. Controlling them

Clearing or blocking

You can delete or block cookies and site storage in your browser’s settings. If you block dr_session you will not be able to sign in; blocking the rest only means your preferences are forgotten.
